Capsule wardrobe 101
30 pieces, hundreds of outfits: the math of a wardrobe where everything goes with everything.
A capsule wardrobe is a small set of pieces chosen so nearly every top works with nearly every bottom. 10 tops × 6 bottoms × 3 shoes is 180 combinations — from 19 items.
The formula
Pick a base palette of 2–3 neutrals you love wearing, add 1–2 accent colors, and buy only pieces that pair with at least three things you already own. That last rule is the whole system.
Start by subtraction
Before buying anything, wear-test what you have. Your updresser wardrobe insights show exactly which pieces earn their space (cost-per-wear) and which have been benched — style the benched ones or let them go.

- The 'three outfits' rule before any purchase stops most impulse buys.
- Season the capsule, don't rebuild it: swap 5–6 pieces at season change.
